The city of San Juan Capistrano is located in the center of Southern California, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego and all of Southern California's major attractions.

The Mission San Juan Capistrano is one of California's most beautiful sites known as, "The Jewel of the Missions". The Mission was founded by Junipero Serra in 1776, named after missionary Giovanni de Capistrano and is the seventh of the 21 Spanish Missions. Within the Mission walls lay the ruins of The Great Stone Church, a Roman Greco style cathedral that once towered in the California wilderness. Destroyed in an earthquake in 1806, The Great Stone Church is now the center of an effort to preserve this great national treasure.

Located just across the train tracks from the Historic Capistrano Depot is favorite spot for locals and visitors alike is Los Rios Street, which is one of the oldest residential streets in California, with it's adobe's and European structures lining the streets. There are shops, galleries, several restaurants in this area as well as the old jail cell. Downtown Capistrano offers excellent dining choices, many with outside patios to take in the charm.

There is much to do in and around San Juan Capistrano. Take a trip back in time with a walk through Mission San Juan Capistrano. Try out the self-guided walking tour of San Juan's historic down town and Los Rios Historic District. Shop and dine in the many unique shops and restaurants throughout the area. Or enjoy the Pacific Ocean with a visit to the Dana Point Harbor, San Clemente Pier, or one of the beautiful beaches that line south Orange County. The climate, history, attractions, and amenities of the area will truly allow you to go back in time.

While San Juan Capistrano has maintained it's small town charm, protected it's open space and preserved it's History, it offers the best in economic opportunity, education and suburban living.
